Halal and Kosher Certification for Ingredients

Halal and Kosher certificates travel with the material and the manufacturing site, not with the trading company alone. Ask which certificate applies to the specific product and plant you are buying from.

Scope matters more than the presence of a logo. A certificate covers named products, a named facility and a validity period — check all three against your order.

These certificates frequently gate market access rather than being a differentiator. If your destination market or your customer requires them, treat them as a specification item, not a nice-to-have.

Request copies at quotation stage so your regulatory team can review them while commercial terms are still being agreed.

Re-check validity on repeat orders. Certificates expire and renew on their own cycle, independent of your purchasing calendar.
